We are happy to welcome you to the Conservatory of Musical Arts Music Together® family. Please take a moment to review our center policies. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at musictogethercma@gmail.com or by phone at 856-448-4334.
If you miss your regularly scheduled Music Together class for any reason, you may schedule a make-up class. Make-up classes are allowed on a space-available basis. They must be taken during the current semester and cannot be "carried over." You may schedule your make-up as soon as you know you are going to miss a class. We often see an end-of-semester rush, so try to schedule your make-ups as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
To schedule a make-up class, use our online Make-Up Scheduler. You may search for a class by time, day, or location, and the scheduler will display the available options. If a given class is not displayed as an option for a make-up, it means all make-up spots for that class have been assigned; please schedule your make-up for a different class or check back later to see if a spot becomes available. If you know you will not be attending a previously scheduled make-up class, please cancel it so the spot becomes available for another family. You can cancel your makeup the same way you scheduled it.
Our children have the entire day to hear us speak, but only 45 minutes per week dedicated to singing with us. Please make valuable use of this time.
To get the most from our classes, we count on the adults to participate. Lean into your silly side, sing, dance, beat a drum. Life on the other side of our doors is demanding and stressful, just relax and allow yourself to enjoy 45 minutes with your little one.
Your child is hard wired to pick up your voice during class, that's why it's so beneficial if their adult is singing. **It works in reverse too, if you are having a full conversation with a neighbor, kids are wired to pick up their adult's voice and now both kids are potentially missing content.**
We love seeing friendships form in the class and head back out into the real world, definitely foster those connections, maybe a coffee date or play date outside class. Make a morning of it!
The one exception is our Infant & Babies Only classes, there is a designated time in class to socialize and start to form the community that hopefully will follow you through many years of our program.
No judgments here, we have all had babies and children and they cry. That being said if your little one is so out of sorts that it's hard for the rest of the class to hear the music, it may be best to take a step into the hallway for a few minutes to settle down before returning. If they are just having an off day, you are also more than welcome to schedule a make up for another day so you get full value from the class.
What distinguishes Music Together from other programs is that our children are not required to perform any specific actions. Any safe behavior is perfectly acceptable. The kids are free to move around the class as long as it's being done in a safe manner. While we have very few rules at Music Together Conservatory Of Musical Arts, there are a few guidelines we need your assistance in upholding. Working together will foster a safe and harmonious classroom atmosphere.
1. No Running
It's completely natural and developmentally appropriate to move around during class, as it is often part of their learning process. We ask, however, that they use walking feet instead of running. Once one child starts to run, we are literally off to the races and collisions are not fun for anyone.
2. No Throwing
If your child is a "thrower" we ask that they either stay within your reach or you trail them. Even a tossed egg can easily hurt someone.
3. No Wrestling or Rough Play
Music Together is a family music class and as a result we have members of all ages and sizes. We kindly ask that everyone treats one another gently, with special consideration for our smallest musicians.
4. Handle Instruments With Care and Respect
Holiday closures will be announced at the beginning of each semester. Classes may be canceled due to inclement weather, teacher illness, and other extraordinary circumstances. In the event of bad weather, if the district where your class is being held is CLOSED (560 for Haddonfield, 668 for Medford, and 574 for Voorhees) then we will NOT have Music Together. Notices will be posted on the home page of the website and on our Facebook page. Every effort will be made to email you. but please don't depend on that method. We suggest you check the pages mentioned and school closure reports.
In the event of a delayed opening, cancellations will be decided on a case-by-case basis. You will be notified by email or phone and decisions will be posted on the website and Facebook.
If classes are canceled for a non-weather-related reason, you will be notified by email and/or phone and/or posted on our website and/or Facebook page. Canceled classes will be made up at the end of the session. Please do not schedule a makeup class for weather cancellations or teacher illness cancellations.
Parents, grandparents, and caregivers are welcome to attend class at any time. Whole family music-making at home is extremely valuable to your child's music development, and attending class occasionally helps family members feel more comfortable joining in. If you would like to bring a guest (including an older sibling who may be home from school), please call the office. Visitation spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot always be guaranteed.
The health of all classroom participants is important to us, so we take measures to ensure the cleanliness of our classroom and limit exposure to germs. We take time to sanitize our classroom space, instruments, and materials after each class with a child-safe cleaning solution. Sanitizing wipes are available in class, and we ask caregivers to clean instruments after they have been mouthed. If you or your child is sick, please stay home from class and schedule a make-up.
The Conservatory of Musical Arts (CMA) reserves the right to take photos or videos of class and use the collected materials for marketing purposes. Images or videos may be used on our website, Facebook page or printed materials, and may be used with or without additional consent. By agreeing to our policies at registration, you agree to our use of photos/videos that may contain you and/or your child. To opt out of this, please email us at musictogethercma@gmail.com.
Full payment is due with registration. No tuition refunds are given after the start of the semester. Credit towards a future semester is available if you withdraw before your first class. Partial credit may be given if you withdraw after the first class only in exceptional circumstances. Unlimited make ups are permitted. Music Together Conservatory of Musical Arts is charged $46 fee per family at the start of each semester. Any credits or refunds would be less this fee.
